so disgruntled lately.... hahah maybe it's pms. everyone is annoying. if you have a chance to join an office where hte doctor actually went out of his way to find you and invite you to try 1 day a week and then think about buying in in the future, what person wouldn't take it. at least you get a chance to just try it out and see if the office is somewhere you can see yourself at in the future. It's slim pickins for jobs out there now ...and why would u be stressed out about taking this great opportunity. geez people are so not grateful. again...very annoying.

reality check:

so i've been filling in for a few offices... mainly those in a corporate setting. At first i thought it was great, the "independent" doctor of optometry sees the patients and hands them over to the optical side to pick out glasses ( sears, jcp, etc). I thought hey they just rent the space and the equipment and life is good. NO... please don't go to those places! They stupid optical pushes patients on you even after hours if there happens to be walkins. Who cares about the doctors hours that they had set ... And what happened to quality assurance and putting the patient's needs first? Apparently all those corporate offices don't give a rat's ass about the patient and only want you as the doctor to pump out glasses and contact lens prescriptions so that they can make money. Really in the end the patient's suffer because the doctor is in the middle trying to do a good exam on the patient (if they rush thru an exam and possibly miss something, theyre the ones who are liable..wtf) and still trying to please the optical side. Lose Lose Lose situation all around. You would think private offices are  different but a lot of them are pretty bad too. =( it's disappointing to go to school and want to help people by doing what you love and you have to deal with this bs all the time. it's just ugly out there...

hmmm wonder what country i should move to haha

everyone is so fuckin money hungry it pisses me off. Every office I've worked at... just makes me more pessimistic about optometry. people want you to take less time with your patients, give them a shitty exam just get the prescription so they can sell the a $500 pair of glasses and contacts watever watever... its just ridiculous! The real world sucks. what happened to good doctoring. im disgusted.
